The fatigue properties and underlying fatigue mechanisms of PZT based piezoelectric ceramics have been studied in this dissertation.The experiment results showed that the ferroelectric, piezoelectric and dielectric properties of poled piezoelectric ceramics degraded during the fati- gue process. The ceramics with MPB compositions exhibited higher fatigue rate than that of ceramics far from MPB compositions.
