Application of fuzzy control in vector control system is discussed in this paper.Intelligent control is a focus in the area of AC motor speed adjustment system. As a important branch,fuzzy control is paid close attention by more and more researchers. With many advantages,vector control is widely applied for AC motor variable-frequency speed control system. But it has many problems,such as complex system structure,nonlinearity and parameter variations. Based on consulting plenty of materials, the application of intelligent control in modern electric drive area is analyzed in the project. Application of fuzzy control in AC motor vector control system was discussed in the simulation experiments.Firstly, this paper introduced the vector-convection discussed model of a squirrel-cage asynchronous motor. And the vector control system takes the model set up by Matlab/Simulink as its control object. I participated in the Laiwu Iron and Steel Group Ltd, the debugging work of the rolling mill main drive control system of the heavy H shape steel production line. Its control system has adopted SIMADYN D—the common digital vector control system produced by Siemens Company. With practical operation, lots of simulation experiments on PID vector control were carried on with the debugging experience. Finally the application of self-adaptation fuzzy controller (SAFC) is deeply studied in the AC vector control simulation experiments. System performance is dealt with,such as steady-state and dynamic characteristics , the effects of parameter variations or inputs disturbance, etc. Because of analyzing their simulation results, it shows the SAFC much effectively restrain the nonlinearity and parameter variations. It improves vector control system robustness, too. Therefore fuzzy control has good prospect in vector control system.
