Matrix converter is an advanced "full silicon" power converter. In recent years, it has become a new research focus of power electronics because of its excellent input and output performances, and is of wide application prospect. In this thesis, detailed illustration and comparison on features and difficulties of circuit topology, switch, modulation strategy and commutation strategy of matrix converter were conducted, computer simulation on commutation strategy by using Matlab/Simulink were made; meanwhile, a single phase AC chopper was designed adopting four step commutation strategy to verify the commutation strategy adopted in this thesis, experiment results validated the correctness and feasibility of the commutation strategy. Based on sufficient understanding of fundamental principle of matrix converter, transform on topology of conventional three phase to three phase matrix converter was made and a three phase to single phase matrix converter topology was achieved, and a AC/DC converter was designed using this topology, it inherit advantages of matrix converter, no DC link, excellent power factor and light weight. Its circuit features, working principle, software and hardware design, debugging and experiment were introduced; meanwhile, computer simulation by making use of M function programming of Matlab was made to validate the modulation strategy adopted. Test waveforms were achieved, and proved the correctness of commutation strategy and modulation strategy.In the end, conclusion on the work conducted was given. The work conducted in the thesis was a try and exploring on the new type circuit topology, and there are some aspects worthy of improving, they are given in this thesis and discussed; improving method was given as well. |
