This thesis aims at the development of Intelligent Release, the core modules of low voltage circuit breaker (LVCB). The main purpose is to realize the wisdom of low voltage circuit breaker protection, and management and real-time remote control and high accuracy. The main content of this thesis is the design of hardware and software of the low-voltage circuit breaker intelligent release and the LVCB communication with upper computer.In the beginning of the thesis, the status of LVCB intelligent release development in the world is introduced. According to the shortage of the current domestic devices, DSP-based design method is presented. And Intelligent Release relative theories are described, including the computation of current, voltage, the theoretical research and analysis on short-circuit situation, the emulation of short-circuit using MATLAB/SIMULINK software, the algorithm of 3-section current protection etc. Then the hardware design is . The hardware have three units, the kernel handling unit based on TI's TMS320F2812 32-bit DSP, the signal modulation and control unit, the input and output unit. The debugging the whole system and the monitoring the supply power are taken into account when the DSP kernel handling unit is framed. Rail-to-rail, low power consume amplifiers, which are used to modulate the signal before A/D sampling, are adopted in the signal modulation unit. A large volume capacity is chosen to meet tripping instantly energy needs in control unit. The input and output unit is composed of LCD, keyboard, storage devices etc, and its functions are to display the real-time parameters during the operation, to modify the protection parameters, to save the data. Afterward, the software of the whole system is depicted. The main program and the subprograms consisting of their flow process diagrams are expounded. And the subprograms include 3-section current protection program, inverse time lag program, LCD display program, FFT program, communication program etc.Experimental results indicate the LVCB intelligent release basically achieve expectant purpose. And the LVCB intelligent release has a certain reference value onthe development and commercialization.
