The reinforcement of the existing buildings is very important in both the building industry and economic life of our country, and it is the important foundation work for the recovery, perfection and enhancement of the building's functions. Because of the increasing load, the changing use, problems emerging in investigation, design, and construction, etc., there are quite a number of existing buildings requiring reinforcement treatment. Although a lot of research has been made on the treatment of building foundation reinforcement, and many kinds of methods have been put forward, the stress is usually laid on the construction machinery and technique. In other words, the fact that to thoroughly analyze the mechanical characteristics of the resisting force of the building is the premise of choosing and optimizing reinforcement is often neglected. Therefore, it is of important practical meaning to carry out research on resisting force of building foundation before reinforcement.Based on the research of building foundation reinforcement and its application in construction both at home and abroad, the thesis first discusses the causes and manifestations of those accidents resulting from poor quality, and how to identify and evaluate the original building. Then, the paper summarizes four principles of building foundation reinforcement, namely, exploiting the potential of building foundation, accurately calculating the load of foundation, giving priority to the adoption of measures that improve the integral rigidity of the structure, and the adoption of simple structure. At last, the paper introduces the treatment methods of reinforcement in common use at present.Combining with the practical cases, the paper expatiates on how to formulate the detection contents based on the damage suffered by the building, and introduces the methods and principles of structure detection. Through the analysis of detection results, the mechanical characteristics of raft board foundation are confirmed, and then the corresponding reinforcement schema is put forward. Based on the theoretical analyses, the paper uses practical cases to prove that it is feasible to make use of elastic method model and plastic method model to contrast and analyze the mechanical characteristics of raft board foundation, exploit the potential of the resisting force of the raft board foundation, and then reinforce only the suffering part. This will enhance the coordination between the foundation and the upside structure and hence achieve integral reinforcement for the whole building. The schema can not only increase the load of the original building, but also can achieve better economic and social benefits.
