| Ecology is one of the most concerned issues being discussed and studied by many countries around the world. To maintain and protect our ecological environment and encourage sustainable ecological development is becoming a challenge for worldwide urban planners.The exploded population and economical development severely harm the urban environment. Air pollutions, acid rain, shortage of water supply and many other issues force us to find ways to maintain a sustainable development for urban and rural ecological environment. One of the important solutions is to protect the urban greenspace system with ecological planning.The paper studied the above issues from the following aspects:1 .ecological effects of greenspace systerm and main rhythm of theory;Through analysis on the theories, evaluation systems and current conditions of urban greenspace ecological planning in both domestic and international, the paper discussed the future direction of urban ecological planning. The paper also evaluated the existing urban greenspace systems and associated problems in China.2. Based on the quantified ecological analysis on urban greenspace system as well as worldwide practices also in consideration of China's specific conditions, the author analyzed various factors of social, economical, resources and environment in Jinhua City and evaluated the land capacity, Carbon-Oxygen balance, greenspace structure and greenspace usage of the area. The analysis indicated that the greenspace development in Jinhua City is still at a primary stage and requires significant input to support its future development.3.Based on the ecological planning principals, recommendations are made to encourage the greenspace ecological development in Jinhua City.
