Automotive traffic accidents have been became "the first public harm" which threaten human safe. How to guarantee the passenger's security and improve car's passive security greatly, which have already become a great theme in our times. As the fast rising of national economy, improvement of living standard, enhancement of safety consciousness, automotive industry and traffic utility will develop to a senior level, a new demand will be raised to automotive safety. Improvement of automotive safety not only can reduce the casualties in automotive traffic accidents, but also affect the traffic environment and the stable of people living directly. Reduce the casualties of traffic accidents at the largest degree is the important problem to be solved in automotive engineering and related field. The essential condition of the further collision research is offered with the improving of computing power and the development of the simulation technology. Software MADYMO is adopted to evaluate and optimie the restraint performance in many foreign automotive corporations at present. MADYMO is used to modelling and optimize in the paper.First, the research and the developing status quo of occupants' restraint system, as well as the characteristic of occupant's injury and restraint system's appraisal and criterion are illustrated. Then the software developed by Holand TNO is assimilated, The multibody theory of MADYMO software was dissected, and the general process of modeling by software MADYMO and studying the occupants'restraint system are also gripped.Nowadays, many scholars found that parameter optimization of occupant restraint system using a hybridâ…¢50th percentile male model simply, restricted the performance of restraint system at a certain extent. If a hybridâ…¢5th percentile female model is supplied , parameter optimization of occupant restraint system will improve the performance of restraint system greatly. In order to avoid and decrease injure to all kinds of occupants during the collision .Main content of this paper:1. Introduce the main research content of occupant restraint system, the research status of internal and foreign,related evaluate rules of occupant restraint system and regulation of every countries;2.Using a hybridâ…¢5th percentile female model validate, compute response of occupant restraint system to various dummies and influence of various dummies to parameter of restraint system , find the relationship between various dummies with parameter of restraint system, optimize parameter of occupant restraint system ,obtain the best protection to various occupants.3.Analysis and optimization of system parameter's sensitive degree .This paper mainly aimed at belt material stiffness,the improvement of installation way for the performance of occupant restraint system' influence and airbag's ignition time, mass flow rate, airbag volume ,exhaust hole diameter to the occupant's response.
