There is a shortage of information on the flexural-torsional buckling of monosymmetric I-section cantilevers, both in theoretical study and experimental investigation. Such limits the practicality of cantilevers. In this paper, analysis on the stability of monosymmetric I-section cantilevers for four cross sections has been made to assist practice use. The loading considered is end concentrated load applied on the top flange or on the bottom flange. The finite-element models are testified appropriately by experimental and theoretical datum. A theoretical study has been made of the effect of monosymmetry and the effect of load position above the shear center in cantilevers. The study shows that the critical load increase when the compression flange increase and the critical load decreases when the load position rises along the shear center axis. In addition, analysis has been made to obtain the proposed equations of equivalent moment parameter β_b , stability parameter φ_band inelastic stability parameter φ_b'.
