For the concrete construction especially in the mass concrete construction the problem of thermal stress have great significance. The problem of temperature stress and temperature control in the mass concrete will be in the roller compacted concrete dam. Along with fast development of roller compacted concrete technique, currently the height of dam become more and more heigh. The temperature field and thermal stress field of height roller compacted concrete dam in construction stage and operating period have itself characteristicses and disciplinarian,only understand that then we can set down scientific temperature control measure to assurance the safety of dam. toward high roller compacted concrete gravity dam due to adopt pouring without longitudinal joint,internal water heat transmission shed slowness,while bottom excess of water or suffer exterior cold air invade will generat major inside and outside temperature difference,easiness create temperature cracking,in practice engineering at bottom department occur compare severe crack . In this paper through the stress researrch analyses of over-cool in bottom,supplying gist for the construction design.Based on the heat conduction theory, the FEA theore tical formulas of temperature field and thermal stress are deduced in this paper. The simulation and analysis programs of thermal field and thermal stress field in roller compacted concrete gravity dam are compiled;the correctness of the program has been proved by using many thods. A mathod of combining international large-scale general-purpose finite element software ansys modeling with independence exploitation main body progrom to realized the simulation analysis for over-cool of bottom. In this paper the temperature field and thermal creep stress field in roller compacted concrete gravity dam during construction and operation are simulated by a typ example, it's results indicate that the program is correct and of great utility.Through thermal stress analysis when over-cool in bottom of a roller compacted concrete dam at differ air temperature condition arrived the influence of over-cool to the dam, the law have been summarized, a few conclusions with application value have been found and theoretical foundation for the temperature control of bottom is offered.
