In the paper, sorts of strengthening schemes are compared from the view of technique and economy for the problem of the dam, the scheme of jetting short steel fiber reinforcing concrete is analyzed to strengthen the dam at last. The scheme of spraying the hard foaming polyurethane is chosen to heat insulated of the dam.It is analyzed the compression strengthen, tensile strength,rupture strength, bond strength with the old concrete, bend toughness index and toughness factor in various ratio of mixture and admixture, through the tests of the steel fiber reinforcing concrete in laboratory and test-in-situ. It is determined the various ratio of mixture and performance indexes of hard foaming polyurethane heat insulation material through test research. Based above mentioned, construction processing and technology demands of these new materials are suggested, the predication strengthening effectiveness and safety degree of the dam will be able to reach. The application of the new material and technology in the dam will be a new way in dam strengthening and other civil projects.
