Recently, the highway construction in our country has gained rapid progress at the expense of increasingly serious environmental problems. As a developing country, it is imperative for us to build up a highway network which is adapted to our future development, on the way to realize sustainable development of highway construction. This process will cause great damage to the environment, thus we must take effective measures to avoid the ecological catastrophe. In order to make proper decision in the highway construction and promote the harmonious development between the highway construction and social, economic, environmental interests, the ecological carrying capacity of the contiguous region of the highway construction project was analyzed.Firstly, this paper analyzed the impact of the highway construction item on the periphery environment from the angle of the ecology as followed:(1) the artificial influence of partition and increments of the environment of ecosystem including the gallery and the partition effects of the road, close in the effect and induce the effect;(2) the influence on the hydrology and living creature including the influence to the hydrology, to the plant and the wildlife;(3) the influence on the conservation of the water and soil. It's carried on from harm and the cause of the water and soil erosion.(4) the influence on the land resources. It's mainly about the press of the roadbed and stations on the land, destroying of the land to take the soil and taking up the land casually;(5) the influence on the weak sensitive region ecosystem. It's mainly about the wetland, the wasteland, and the natural sanctuary etc.(6) the influence on the natural landscape. The influence of the highway construction is mainly about the interaction between the artificial highway and the natural scenery. Secondly, the paper introduced some method to study the ecosystem carrying capacity as followed:...
