More and more high-speed railways have been being constructed with the rapid development of Chinese economics. The high-speed train's characteristics of high-speed, much more comfortable, safety and non-interrupt asked for much striker requirements of rigid. To ensure the safety of construction and transiting, the Qin-Shen dedicated passenger line has applied new design standards to control the settlement and settlement beyond construction of pier at bridges. There have been so many researches about the ultimate settlement of piles of pier, but few of them were about the settlement beyond construction. If the piles of bridge were constructed on a base of soft soil, the settlement beyond construction counts a lot proportion for the ultimate settlement because of the long time of concretion, which maybe last as long as several years or even tens of years, as well as the secondary concretion and creep. The settlement beyond construction is unsafe to the train running with high-speed. According to the above-mentioned reason, this paper put forward a kind of method for calculating settlement beyond construction and predicting the trend of that by thorough research. It will provide the theories basis from now on for the construction of the Mass Rapid Transit or the passenger transportation special line.The paper, which is the first research on settlement beyond construction of pile group foundation in railway vocation, is based on the research of the settlement beyond construction of bridges and culverts(NO.2000G48-E), and also the general test in technology of tackle key problem of Qin-Shen dedicated passenger line. By calculating the settlement and comparing it to the actual measured data, the paper verifies the rationality and possibility of the method. The main work of this paper includes: first, the thesis presents the development and the important meaning of calculating settlement of pile--group foundation and consolidation of clay at present; Second, the thesis introduces one method to calculate the ultimate settlement of pile group, and compared the method with current criterion as well.
