This paper takes R.C shear wall of Minsheng as a background. The seismic behavior of middling-high R.C shear wall strengthened with bonding steel plate is studied through model experiments and finite element methods in this paper. Based on comprehensive literature research and the project special details , three piece of R.C shear walls are designed and one of three is strengthened with bonding steel plate according to the new and old codes .The bonding steel plate strengthening effects and the seismic behavior of middling-high R.C shear wall are studied through pseudo static contrast test and the theoretical analysis. The test results and the analysis indicate that, increment of ratio of hoop reinforcement of embedded column has not been able to enhance the bearing capacity and the ductility performance has not been able obviously to improve, then the ability of consuming energy enhances in a small scope and the property of hystersis curves enhances slightly, so the seismic behavior is slightly good; embedded column of reinforcement R.C shear wall strengthened with U style of steel plate obviously enhances the test sample's bearing capacity, improves the test sample's ductility performance and performance of consuming energy and stabilize the structure later period rigidity. The hystersis curve of the test sample is even more fullness and effectively enhances the seismic behavior of middling-high reinforcement R.C shear wall with embedded column. Reinforcement effects are obvious and the reinforcement method is feasible and effective. The finite element models are set up by the software of integrated finite element analysis and structural design. According to the nonlinear analysis, the theoretical analysis results are well consistent with those of the experiments.
