When the construction of road and traffic are developed, all kinds of phenomenon of pavement destroying are more and more obvious. Especially the phenomenon of rutting is payed attention to seriously. Many types modifiers and many set of aggregates gradations are used in design of asphalt mixtures to improve the performance of rutting-resistance in high temperature.Asphalt mixtures added natural gilsonite asphalt ,SEAM(sulphur extended asphalt modify)or polyester fiber are studied in this paper.Firstly, natural gilsonite asphalt ,SEAM and polyester fiber and some of their combined binder that they combined with asphalt are studied. Nature of asphalt and aggregate which suit to three modified mixture is refered to.Secondly, the method of modified mixture composition design that three modifiers are added to asphalt mixture. According to some test roads,different aggregates gradations mixtures design are done. For example, aggregate gradation named as Sup-13 mixture to which natural gilsonite asphalt is added is design.Thirdly, the optimal amount of three kinds of modifiers that are added to modified mixtures is studied by tests. Three modified mixture's performance of water stability,rutting-resistance in high temperature,cracking-resistance in low temperature are studied,when the amount that modifiers are added to asphalt mixtures is optimal. Especially three modified mixture's performance of rutting-resistance is compared and studied.In the end,three modified asphalt mixture are applied in ZhenJiang test road of widen project of 312 country road, ChunYang test road of TaiHu road in WuXi and test road of widen project of SeYuan in NanTong by task team. Modifiers are studied by this paper.The working technology of mixture is studied according to their's characteristic. After SEAM mixture is analyzed by finite element, the stress and displacement of SEAM asphalt mixture are analyzed. And the performance of rutting–resistance of asphalt mixture is deduced by analyze. Economy of three modified mixture are compared and studied.
