Cement concrete strips pavement is a new type of structure style. It has virtue of economizing engineering cost, good endurance, being convenient for maintenance and rehabilitation of environment. So it is suitable to be constructed in the area with small traffic volume. In overseas, cement concrete strips pavement was adopted at early time. But its design method was still same to cement concrete pavement which was used for common highway. However, ether the dimension or stress state of the slab was different between common cement concrete pavement and strips pavement. Base on this character, design method of cement concrete strips pavement was studied.Load stress and temperature stress was analyzed. In the research, the factors of length and thickness of strip slab, module ratio of surface slab and base course and fatigue were considered. The rules of load stress and temperature stress of slab were obtained. The suitable size of strip slab was brought forward.Through analysis of possible destroy pattern of cement concrete strips pavement, it is proved that the main destroy pattern was fatigue break of slab. So it is considered that the fatigue break subject to loading and environment was the limit state of design.According to research on space between wheel and Cart rut traverse curve of single roadway, the width of strip slab was fixed. When there was horizontal loading on slab, contact state between strip slab and base course was studied, and finite element model was established. Comparing maximum principle stress among different load position on slab, it was found that the critical loading position of cement concrete strips pavement was the middle of longitudinal joint.On the basis of the practical of cement concrete strips pavement, load transfer coefficient on joint, fatigue coefficient of load stress, load security coefficient, and temperature fatigue stress coefficient were fix. Load fatigue stress and temperature fatigue stress were calculated. Then suitable length and thickness of strip slab of pavement was determined.
