In the past, high titanium heavy slag of Panzhihua steel was used as the coarse aggregate or ground fine addition to make concrete, which is called"high titanium heavy slag concrete (HTHSC)", and practice shows that this is feasible. However, further study is needed for making concrete which is called"complex high titanium heavy slag concrete (CHTHSC)", using high titanium heavy slag as the coarse aggregate, fine aggregate and ground fine addition in it. So far, there has been no test confirming the components and structure of concrete of this kind. Therefore, this paper, combining with the theme of the project established by Panzhihua Science and Technology Bureau–"Study on High Titanium Heavy Slag Concrete and Wall Material", in which the author participates, conducts application study on this kind of concrete from the level of material and the level of component.In the aspect of the study on the level of material, this paper first testifies and analyzes the stability of the structure and the physical mechanics performance of high titanium heavy slag. C10-C55 CHTHSC are made and experiments are conducted to compare them with common concrete and concrete composed of fluvial sand, heavy slag and macadam. Results show that the compression resistance, axial compression resistance and cleavage strength of CHTHSC are higher than those of the other two kinds of concrete. For CHTHSC, it is appropriate to have 15%-20% of compound powder take the place of cement content.More over, the paper analyzes and demonstrates that complex high titanium heavy slag used as the coarse aggregate and fine aggregate can meet the road-use JT-2003 technical standards. With the anti-flexural-tensile strength of road-type CHTHSC as the center, through orthogonal experiment of mix proportion, the most optimized mix proportion was obtained. Also, the influence of all kinds of factors on the mechanics performance of this kind of concrete is analyzed.As for the study on the level of component, experimental study on the anti-bending performance of the normal section of complex high titanium heavy slag reinforced concrete beam is firstly conducted. With concrete strength and longitudinal reinforcement ratio as the variable parameters, it is compared with common reinforced concrete beams with the same designed conditions.
