With the wide utilization of power electronic devices, people have moreability to control the electrical power transformation. But these nonlinear devices cause the serious reactive power and harmonic current pollution in the electricalpower system. It has been a key research field in power electronic application technology to study the active power filters to compensate the reactive power and harmonic current pollution caused by power electronic devices. Load harmoniccurrent suppression and reactive current compensation are selected as controlling object in this dissertation.This article mainly researched on the new power system compensation device with high capacity, which is based on DSP control system. It combined the merit of active power filter and static var generator, and can reduce the harmonics besides excuting reactive compensation.The traditional compensation chiefly adopted analog control system. But analog control system has a lot of defect such as complex circuit; bad control performance; easily disturbed by circumstance and so on. This article put forward a digital control system, which centered on TI company TMS320LF2407 high-speed processor. The most significance is that the resistance and capacitance, which have been used in this device, is smaller than in traditional SVC. Therefor the device's volume and cost is greatly reduced.Otherwise, because of the limitation of IGBT's specified voltage, we must use special step-up transformer, which is more expensive, if we put this device into high voltage power system. Consequently if we can solve the voltage sharing of IGBT direct series connected with several assistant peripheral circuits, step-up transformer isn't necessary and the cost is also reduced. This is another research aspect of the article.First the article retrospects the development of power system active power filter and reactive compensation. Secondary, the system work principles and key technologies are introducted. On the basis, we discuss the hardware and software design of power system active power filter and reactive compensation. Finally, the simulation and experimental results are given at the end of the thesis.
