In this thesis combined with Linhai Bridge in development area in Tianjin City, a bridge system transforming from simple-supported beam into continuous beam was researched, structural properties of this system were analyzed, and through loading tests and monitoring during its construction.Basic theory, types, and design characteristics of the bridge with transforming from simple-supported girder into continuous girder are produced systematically in this thesis. Structural properties of this system were analyzed here. Using a structural analysis software, the bridge is calculated and analyzed according by Chinese Code for Design of Highway Reinforced Concrete and Prestressed Concrete Bridge and Culverts (JTG D62-2004) under the limited state of bearing capacity and normal service. The calculated results show that the design is under compression uniformly, and thus the whole structure is under compression uniformly. And the stress is lower than under the limit of bridge design code. So the bridge system possesses enough safety reserve. The bridge is proved reasonable. Loading tests are measured for strains and deflections of control sections in different construction stages. And then actual stress and deformation of this type of bridge structure were determined. Thus the actual distribution of consecution between spans in the bridge system transforming from simple-supported beam into continuous beam is exposed. Test data and analysis results are verified each other for ensuring construction quality.Conclusions in this thesis provides theoretical basis for the construction of Linhai Bridge. Besides, loading state of service stage for small box girders in this bridge system is analyzed systematically. These results are valuable for design and construction of this type of bridges in Tianjin City.
