Based on deep foundation pit of Tianjin Taida Library, and with account intointernal force anddeformationofretainingstructure,the paperdetailed analyzes mainfactors influencing retaining structure internal force and deformation, and also givesthe concrete measures to control retaining structure internal force and deformationthrough analyzing deep foundation pit projects on design, monitor and constructionaspects.(1) The paper studies factors which influence the internal force and deformationof retaining structures using finite-element software, theses factors include theretaining structure rigidity, buried depth, support position, pit opens to dig depth andso on. The retaining structure and the optimal brace of Taida Librarydeep foundationpit are presented through analysis and taking into account economy. The methodproposedregardstherequirementofdeformationasthefirstconstraintcondition.(2) The text elaborates purpose, contents and request of deep foundation pitengineering monitoring, and gives monitoring of Taida Library deep foundation pitduring construction. The emphasis is given on the monitoring internal force anddeformation of retaining structure, the results show that it compares well withpredictedvalue.(3) The concrete measures of Taida Library deep foundation pit are introducedduring earth-rock excavation and retaining structure construction. The paper alsogives measures to controlling abrupt affairs. These measures also regard therequirement of deformation and internal force of the retaining structure as the firstconstraintcondition.
