Reverse Engineering is an important supporting technology of digesting advanced technology, shorting time of product redesign and manufacturing, and is one of core technology of advanced manufacturing technology. Variable intake manifold can increase efficiency of charging. It is variable machine which can increase air negative pressure in the case of low rotate speed of engine. This thesis mainly carries on research of three dimensional surface reconstruction of variable intake manifold and air fluid simulation analysis. It explores one new method of three dimensional curved surface reconstruction and carrying on air fluid simulation analysis. It provides the direction of redesign and optimization for variable intake manifold and provides the basis for the following cylinder experiment of burning simulation.The first part measures point clouds data of variable intake manifold with Tian Yuan 3D Scanner and researches preprocesses point cloud data with CATIA V5 software. This thesis imports point clouds, and then delete the jumped points, broken points and noise points. It proposes method of adaptative to filter dense points, it can significantly reduce point cloud datum. It proposes method of based on cross-sectional curve to reconstruct surface, including curve fitting and surface regenerating. Curve fitting is a curve approaching process under definite error and the number of control points throughout surface is ascertained after curve fitting completed. But surface generation requests through a series of curves, and it finally produces control vertex and node vector satisfied with surface request. Three dimensional geometry model of variable intake manifold which is constructed with this method satisfies lubricity request.The second part carries on the air fluid simulation analysis of variable intake manifold with the STAR-CD fluid software. This thesis proposes method to divide grid, which import three dimensional curved surface with CATIA reconstructing to pro-STAR/Surf to carries on curved surface repair and import pro-STAR/amm, and then carries on simulation and analysis of turbulent fluid experiment. The simulation chart drawn up with Matlab basically accord with actual data.
