With the development of our country's highway construction, a lot of bituminous pavement has been close with its designed deadline of operating period, so the maintenance was needed. But the traditional maintenance technology and method has failed with meeting today's requirement, for the problems as material waste environmental pollution and re-failure soon after maintenance. So far, most of developed countries have begun using a new technology called Hot In-place recycling of asphalt pavement to maintenance the used highways. For this technology the process of heating the asphalt is a key part. In this thesis the method and control system of asphalt pavement heating was researched.Based on the researching of the development about Hot In-place recycling of asphalt pavement both here and around, find out a method can be used for the hot maintenance of our highways and designed a Gas Infrared Metal Fiber Burner.Using the Gas Infrared Metal Fiber Burner we tested its heating effectiveness on-site of asphalt pavement and got a lot of raw data. After analyzing the raw date we found out the qualitative rule of asphalt pavement heating.According to the result got from the on-site test, we designed a control system based on the Programmable Logic Controller for the LDY40 High-grade Asphalt Pavement Maintenance Truck.In the finally, the problems requiring further studies are discussed.
