This paper gives the conception of Positioning System and introduce the history, status and development of immersed tube for tunnel construction. This article also analysis the distinctiveness of many kinds of immersed tube for tunnel construction and gives the opinion to some problem, which has been found in these construction. This paper presents a method that we make use of total stations to go along real-time monitoring by computer, in order to resolve the problem in immersed tube. It is that obtaining data from total station, through the coordinates between different coordinate system, the real time calculation of body characteristics points of tube, thereby we can control the process of real-time monitoring.In order to solve the problem of traditional immersed tube for tunnel construction, this paper presents the method of real-time positioning of immersed tube by using computer and total station, and programmed the software with the standard of integration and modularization.The software was proved to be very efficient in the real-time positioning of immersed tube construction after the several exams and experiments.
