This paper mainly resaerched the deformation monitoring problems in subway operation process,built a metro automatic deformation monitoring system by using Trimble S8 intelligent total station,and analyzed the measurement principle of Trimble S8 intelligent total station and the construction of deformation monitoring system,rapidly fulfilled the data analysis,integration,statistics and some other functions through developing program module by using C language.Firstly,using total station instrument fulfilled the monitoring points automatically observing work,including the data transmission and storage function of automatic total station instrument and computer.After that,processed the raw data though multiple-real-difference-correction and coordinate-transformation methods,outputed the results.By distinguishing the stability of the reference points,utilized different methods to deal with the observation data,then do favorable corrections to the observation data of the deformation points,thus improved its accuracy.At last,realized the data calculation and drew the change curve graph of the monitoring points by using the data processing software we developed.Through the practical engineering test of Shenyang Metro Line 2,we proved that the automatic deformation monitoring system observation precision can meet the requirements of engineering measurement.This has great practical significance to the deformation monitoring like subway and tunnel,which has a poor working condition,strong repeatability and longer duration.
