Metro is one of the most important railway transportation tools of modern cities. DC-01 direct current locomotives of Shanghai Metro line one were imported from Germany. The driver locomotives were drove by direct current motors with the speed regulation method of chopper. TCUs (Traction Control Unit) and choppers are the main controllers of the driver locomotives. The main controllers are the key equipment of the locomotive and now they are all still imported from Germany. After ten years operation there are still no domestic product to replace them. TCUs and choppers must work stably and reliably so they need regular maintenance. After the maintenance they must be tested before operating in the locomotives. Now there are no domestic testing systems for them. They were tested by technical works manually and then assembled into the locomotives and operated in the experimental railway line.
