Steam turbine is widely used in power plant, chemical industry and many other important fields. To improve the efficiency of the steam turbine may have a great influence on the national economy. Ultra Supercritical 600MW steam turbine is developed by shanghai steam turbine Ltd., whose main stop valve and control valve system adopt the valve structure with technology of sub-critical from WESTINGHOUSE. Under the condition of supercritical, the distribution of temperature and stress of valve is quite different from the traditional sub-critical units. In this paper, the analysis for strength of valve with traditional structure under the faulty condition is carried out, which can be regarded as a judgment of supercritical units. The calculation of flow rate for valve provides boundary conditions for the calculation of strength. Thus, designers can regard the above calculating results as a reference to check the whole strength level when new parameters and materials are applied.Firstly, the paper calculates the flowrate of the valve then work out the parameters such as resistance coefficient, pressure loss, flow velocity distribution, flowrate of pre-open valve and turn-on force of servomotor of supercritical and ultra supercritical units.
