The Field Bus control system is either an open communication network or a distributed control system, which is going to maturity now. With the development of computer, data communication, intelligent sensor and control network etc., Field Bus gradually becomes the researching hotspot in the field of communication in our country. For the outstanding advantages at reliability, real-timing and flexibility, the application of CAN-bus in the control field must be increasingly broader.How to receive and process data from navigation equipments on ship efficiently is the main problem of ship traffic and transport. This paper introduced a real project of receiving and transmitting navigation equipments on ship with CAN-bus for data transmission medium. The main achievement of me is the construction of the testing-end simulating the navigation equipments on ship and the analysis of CAN-USB adapter. The testing-end has 2 SJA1000 controllers, can control 2 channel of data independently at the same time. Its interface has a design of photoelectric separation so that there's no interference between ends on CAN-bus. The navigation equipment simulating software is made with the interface function of CAN-USB adapter for sending data to the CAN-bus. This soft can simulate more than one equip at the same time transmitting data. It can work either in single or circle mode, adjust the speed and content of the data, shows on time and save the received data. To suit for testing, the soft can also send short pulse to PC parallel port in circle mode.This system fully uses the advantages of CAN-bus just as long data-transmitting distance, fast speed, reliable transmit and low cost etc. Because of the complex using circumstance, the testing task costs relatively much and is difficult to carry out. The testing end software which based on PC and USB and can easily adjust data format and transfer mode, greatly facilitates the system testing.
