Application of static var compensator(SVC) is one of the effective ways to improve power system stability and achieved some results.However,the controllers designed can't guarantee robustness from the theories to the network structure and the working point of the system generally.So three kinds of fuzzy variable structure controllers for SVC to improve the power system stability are designed in this paper.The first is the method of fuzzy reach law,which applies fuzzy controller to timely adjust the parameter of reach law of sliding-mode control.The second is formula fuzzy variable structure controller,which applies fuzzy control rules to directly determine control variable.The end adopts additional control,which applies fuzzy adjustment strategy to accelerate the reach area and reduce chattering.The results of simulation show that three kinds of controllers proposed can not only improve power angle stability and local voltage characteristics of SVC,but also have strong compatibility and robustness.The controllers have simple structure,easy to realize.
