Load Relieving System is a new type of structure,which achieves self-adjustment and self-protection with load relieving devices. Firstly, a new load-relieving device is proposed. And it is applied to the Cable dome, which can be called cabel dome with load relieving function. Secondly Cabel dome with load relieving function's static behaviours is analyzed.Taking Geiger domes structure as the subject investigated, a quick caculation method is used to find out the structure's initial prestress distribution. Then 7 feasible load relieving device arrangements are discussed, and static behaviours are analyzed. On the other hand, the influence of the generalized spring stiffness constant K is studied.Taking Bird-nest-patterned domes structure as the subject investigated, 4 feasible load relieving device arrangements are applied. The influence of load-relieving device are caculated when the structure with full-span and half-span uniformly distributed load.For direct realization of this kind of structure, an experiment of Bird-nest patterned domes structure with the diameter of 5.0m has been done. The contents of the experiment included the static analysis under the load condition and the infuence of the load relieving device etc. The results of experiment are almost consistent with the caculation.Finally some conclusions are summarized and the problems should be studied further are put forward.
