This report charged the region of Jinan power network in Shandong province for example, studied the difficulties and method in searching new substation location and capacity programming, finally put forward the planning algorithm, improved algorithm.This report discussed the significance and content of power network programming (PNP) first, emphasizing on researching the new substation location searching and capacity determining, and how the particle swarm optimization algorithm was carried out in the PNP. According to the Jinan PNP project, load density and the value of adaptability function was used to resolve the problems that exiting during the Jinan PNP project.Finally, pass the improved algorithm realization in the software development, and use the software to analysis the region of Jinan power network planning, the improved algorithm come to an excellent result.
