Automobiles on witch air suspension is installed can obtain good characteristics, e.g. less dynamic load of wheels and good ride performance. Air suspension also has the advantage of installing leaving system and keeping the height of auto body. And it can be adjusted according the need of safety and comfort. Common leveling system of air suspension is each adjusted by its leveling valve alone.Based on the common leveling system, this thesis suggested a method of leveling that can adjust the distance between each wheel and the car body via weight coefficient coupling matrix adjustment of each wheel. Its aim is to solve the problem that on the uneven road, the car body needs bear redundant shock and torsion, and to reduce the torsion of carboy, to improve the equality of wheel load, the velocity of off-road vehicles and other ride performance.This thesis studied the infection of coupling matrix leveling system on road contacting performance and torsion of car body. A simulation model of whole car was built in Carsim; Combined with the air spring model and coupling matrix leveling system model built in Simulink, the whole car model was simulated at 3 different velocities. The result shows the coupling matrix leveling system can improve can reduce the height of car body on uneven road and improve the rideperformance.For further study, the thesis suggests the procedure of experiment on the coupling matrix leveling system. Firstly, simulation of the test bench was made. A dynamic model of test bench was built in ADAMS, and combined with the air spring model built in Simulink, the test bench model was simulated. The analysis of the result shows that the experiment reached the expect aim. Based on the experiment, the test bench was designed, the pneumatic system of air suspension was established and the computer aided DAQ and control system was built. The test bench experiment shows that the coupling matrix leveling system can reduce the torsion and shocks exerted on car body by uneven road and improve the ride performances of vehicles.
