This paper studies emphatically the characteristics of soft sinking mattress antierosion technique, new technology and new material technology, the application to highway engineering construction, the prospect and resulting benefits. The emphasis is not the project itself, but the problem that road embankment along a river is confronted with erosion destruction in engineering construction. The main research content of this paper is to study the popularization and application of erosion protection new technology through the analysis of the erosion protection measures in existing highway construction.Since the domestic highway engineering construction demands new antierosion technique, it is very important to carry out the applied research subject of underwater soft sinking mattress antierosion technique. The information provided in this paper has the necessity and feasibility for the optimization of the underwater antierosion new technique in highway engineering construction.Underwater soft sinking mattress antierosion technique is the practice of Jilin Province in water conservancy project field at the end of the 1990s. The analysis and research is carried out based on the results of concrete practice of road embankment along a river of Songyuan City. Since the economic and social benefits produced by this technique are great, it is paid close attention to by the engineering circle of water conservancy, highway and railway increasingly. At the same time due to the characteristics that with underwater soft sinking mattress, construction in winter and operation on ice can be carried out, it is more suitable for the highway construction and improvement of river bed in the northern provinces of China, so it is paid attention to and thought by engineering circle. The research on the application of underwater soft sinking mattress technique makes a contribution to defining the development direction of the future antierosion technique, the highway construction, and also the optimization of the underwater protection engineering measures of highway construction along a river and the implementation of specific project. So the research on the application of underwater antierosion technique has originality, is the research subject that new technique challenges traditional technique.On the basis of literatures and materials referred to, the paper expounded systematically the present situation and development trend of geotechnical composite materials method at home and abroad, analyzed the main existing problems of geotechnical materials, soft sinking mattress in underwater antierosion, summarized up and explained the characteristics of underwater soft sinking mattress antierosion technique.The paper studied the advanced nature and rationality of soft sinking mattress technique, from the properties of geotechnical composite materials of soft sinking mattress body, engineering applicability, integral antierosion effect, its contrast to traditional underwater dumped rock fill works, to the soft sinking mattress technique. The characteristics of soft sinking mattress technique and the application situation of geotextile at home and abroad are studied. Particularly based on the fact that highway engineering is at the developing stage in using geotextle, the application of geotextile to road embankment antiersosion technique along a river is introduced and studied emphatically. The research and analysis shows that good operation effects and outstanding comprehensive benefits are the essential conditions necessary for highway construction antierosion technique, so analyzing the demand of highway construction presents broad prospect.The application of soft sinking mattress antierosion technique is studied systematically; particularly the reasons causing roadbed erosion destruction, hydrologic and geologic conditions are analyzed. The applicability of antierosion technique aiming at erosion features is proposed. The structure characteristics of soft sinking mattress antierosion technique itself, its structure form and calculation, as well as the erosion calculation and structure calculation are studied. And also the present operation situation of the research project, and the suitable popularization scope of the project are studied.The core problem, the project benefits of soft sinking mattress antierosion technique application is studied and evaluated. Through the analysis and contrast of benefit types of this project with traditional projects, the evaluation of their economic benefits, environmental benefits and social benefits, the benefits of soft sinking mattress technique application are evaluated.
