The multifunction ditcher can improve the trenching efficiency; avoid the waste of manpower and material resources. Therefore, it is very necessary to research and development the multifunction ditcher, which will fill the multifunction ditcher vacancy of China, and have great value in economy and society.The virtual prototyping technology be used in research and development of the multifunction ditch after analysis its characteristics and advantages. Based on virtual prototyping technology, throw the integration of theory calculation and computer simulation, The paper carried out kinetics and dynamics simulation, optimization design and finite element analysis of the multifunction ditcher's working device.Based on Rock & Soil Mechanics and Soil cutting method, those cutting force in ditching and digging process and the general design parameters were calculated. So the general design plan was developed. After analyzing the design requirements and methods of the multifunction ditches working device, the development steps of the multifunction ditch working device virtual prototyping were given. Based on parameter type modeling technology and top-down developing method, the parameter type model of the multifunction ditch working device was developed. The working device 3D model was drawn in SolidWorks software. Then the working device 3D model was transmitted into ADAMS in perfect way. In ADAMS software platform, the working device 3D model was improved, initial conditions were given, and the forces, drives and restrictions were added to 3D model. Then the STEP function tool was used to simulate the digging force, the kinematics and dynamics of the multifunction ditch working device were simulated, and the results were gotten through using the ADAMS/Solver core model. Final, the working device joint points and hydraulic cylinder forces were gotten after analysis the moving intervene and moving field. All those results were initial conditions in hydraulic system design. Using the parameter type model, the multifunction ditch lift crane mechanics model and finite element method model were developed. And the lift crane static force was analyzed in ANSYS software; the results were drawn in equivalent displacement and equivalent stress graphics. All those were used to advance the lift crane strength and function.The research in this paper provides some valuable conclusions and simulation approach for the design and experiment of the roller system.Besides, the idea and the method used by the paper,which synthetically make use of three-dimension design software(SolidWorks), Multibody Dynamics Simulation Analysis Software(ADAMS) and Finite-element Analysis Software(ANSYS) to solve problem,can use for reference to similar study.Besides, the way synthetically using SolidWorks, ADAMS and ANSYS in R&D multifunction ditch is valuable for solving similarity problem.
