Now in China the fact is that researches on the durability of reinforced concrete structures have lagged behind the needs of engineering practice, therefore we have paid the huge price. The environment is the external factor which affects the durability of concrete structures. Because our country is broad, various regions have different climates. Thus the concrete structures in different regions suffer from different damage. If we design the structure according to the environment, it can save the energy source and protect the environment. This thesis has analyzed current situation and tendency of our country environment which can affect the durability of concrete structures, including the atmospheric temperature, the relative humidity, the density of corrosive gas in the atmosphere, the acid rain and marine environment in our country. And the thesis has analyzed main meteorology parameters of eighteen representative cities in our country nearly thirty years. The thesis has systematically analyzed how the environment influents the durability of concrete structures. It has provided the basis for selecting division standards. The thesis has used the climate division principle into durability environment divisions for the first time. The thesis selects the suitable division standards. Using these division standards, our country has been divided into seven areas in the first-grade and sixteen areas in second-grade.For more intuitionist representation the results of durability environment divisions, the visualization results have been provided. The thesis discussed climate characteristic in various areas, and analyzed the most possible reasons that cause damage to concrete structures.
