For the Cultural Heritage, the Intangible Cultural Heritage (the historical and culturalmessage on the buildings) is as important as the Tangible Cultural Heritage (thebuildings itself). Both of them must combine organically that can make the historicaland cultural heritage to be completed.The traditional residential buildings in Fenghuangzhen Town, which were built at thelate of Qing dynasty, absorbed the architectural style in Hubei Province, andinfluenced by the commerce and emigration, are formed its own typical feature in thecourtyard and street space.It is also analyzed the Intangible Cultural Heritage in Fenghuangzhen Town. As asmall town with long history, Fenghuangzhen Town is a Commercial collection anddistribution points of Shangluo City in the south of Shaanxi province at the end of the19th and the early of 20th century and there has rich folk culture, such as folk-custom,traditional opera, ballad and business establishments.There has no living spaces of the folk culture if the traditional residential buildings inFenghuangzhen town are not existed; then if there has no the folk culture, thetraditional residential buildings town will not be the status as now it is. The Traditionalresidential buildings are as important as the folk culture. Therefore when we preservethe folk culture (the Intangible Cultural Heritage), we should also preserve thetraditional residential buildings in Fenghuangzhen town.The main point of the paper is the reciprocal relation between the Tangible andIntangible Cultural Heritage in Fenghuangzhen town, and investigates to find the newmethod and ideal for the conserving of Cultural Historical Heritage.
