"Village in city" is heterogeneous physical environment, which has gradually formed in many urban fringes in China since the beginning of 1990's. This compact community is different from modern cities and traditional villages. The disorder development of "village in city" is seriously affecting the urban construction and development, so the demands for renovating the "village in city" are urgent.Along with the deepen study of many urban fringes research theory, "Village in city" had attracted more attention. The transformation and renewal requests for "village in city" are more and more proposed and therefore the question research on it is promoted.Villagers, who live in "Village in city", have been moved to the new housing by different transformation ways. But their social security suddenly reduced, even vanished because of their passive migration. as well as the existing space of non-native population in "village in city" passively changed, it brings series of social questions.The present research results are focus on the population structure, economic development, the utilization of land, and urban planning and construction. This paper based on the existing researches, mainly studies the different living forms of transformed architecture styles, analyses the effects of actual living space on living condition after transformation in order to systematize and go deep into the study of the transformation of "village in city".The paper, firstly, classifies the transformation of "village in city" according to the different architecture styles, and analyzes the surrounding environment, economic conditions, physical environment, housing forms, and cultural idea. Then it raises the problems in transformation and analyses the root of it. Finally, it puts forward the appropriate transformation measures and suggestions.
