Because of complicated structure, it still has no special criterion for designing the structure of smoking desulfuration absorber tower. So the study about finite element analysis and simplified dynamic computation of the structure has carried into execution.Analysis using finite element method for the structure of the smoking desulfuration absorber tower of an Electric Plant is carried out, and dynamic properties such as natural frequency, vibration modes are obtained. Then analysis model of equivalent simplified seismic reaction is built for tower structure. Earthquake waves are input to entity model and simplified model respectively, and then dynamic analysis is carried out to study seismic performance of tower structure. The results show good agreement between the seismic reaction of entity model and simplified model. A study is also carried out by considering the affection of serum and the point of yield.From the result of study, we can know that the simplified model can well reflect the entity model. The entity model is still in the phase of elasticity by adding the largest seismic reaction. And it is to say that the design is suitable.
