As the core equipment of flue gas desulfurization in the coal-fired power plant, the smoking desulfuration absorber tower has large diameter, thin thickness and large rectangular opening. Up to now, there is no uniform design method of the equipment. The structure and load form of the absorbing tower are complex, with the result that the regular design and calculation method cannot give its distributions for the stress and deformation. Hence, today's numerical analysis code becomes one of the indispensable tools for researchers and designers because it can reduce designing cost and save calculating time. ANSYS and Matlab are powerful tools of finite element analysis and numerical calculations.By using finite element method, structural analysis of smoking desulfuration absorber tower for Kunming Electric Plant is carried out. The natural frequency(period) and vibration mode are computed sequentially for the absorber tower structure. Based on the dynamic properties, we can study the stiffness characters of this complicated structure. According to the equivalent principle that the dynamic properties of the simplified model and the entity structure should keep be consistent, an approximate computing formula for estimating the entity structure is derived. As a result, a one-dimensional simplified equivalent model is established and associated numerical seismic response analyses are carried out. Finally, by comparing the results with that of entity structure, the rationality of the simplified model is validated.In order to take the advantages of the effective finite element analysis and the powerful matrix operations. Through compiling M file technique in Matlab and Ansys mixed programming, the method of realization and program for various interface connections have been given in this paper. And the article has summarized some merits and shortcomings for various methods described. By taking use of ANSYS Parameter Design Language (APDL) and powerful mathematic calculation capacity and graphic capacity of Matlab, we can accomplish the integration of earthquake resistance of engineering structure initially and offer a better programming way in project development.The calculation results show that the method can optimize structure form and improve the security and economical efficiency, and this will provides a practically valuable reference to engineering design.
