The paper took a power plant in Anhui province under construction as the background, according to inner makeup system of the water supply system, particularly described the reliability design from water resource,water supply equipment and transporting pipe line. the water resource described the guarantee level to meet the water supply demanded, the water supply equipment described the reliability of equipment fixed in the pump room, the pipe line set up the measures to assure the pipes to transport water safely according to the practicaly landform, and found it's important to set a standby water pond at the same time. Finished the stop and the start water hammer calculation and the computer-simulation depending on the pipe collocation, and prepared the integrant facility to stand-against the water hammer according to the calculation results to ensure the reliability of the water supply system wholely.General speaking, inproving the reliability needs more investment of the project than that of low reliability. But the economy loss and socity influce owing to the low reliability of the water supply system should be great. According to the weaks determined by the system reliability analysis, we can take corresponding measures to improve the dasign and instruct the daily-work.The reliability can be increased to the the greatest extent within certain investment.The paper measured the reliability of the project with the actual data. Investigated the reliability of the water supply system. collecting the water supply equipment with the water resouce, collecting the normal work condition to the temporary work condition, the result meets the demand of the engineering, providing a good sample of the same kind of the project for it's design.
