This paper is mainly about the research of rigidity and modal analysis of the white body of a domestic car, and has probed into the determination on the sensitive components of the body. The main content and achievements of this paper are list as follow:(1)Basis on ready-made researches , the procedure and relevant technology of the finite element analysis about the car body have been researched, it is offered with the procedure of developing and design theory on automobile body for the workers with designing.(2)Combining the researching results and relevant experience from both domestic and abroad, the model scale controling, unit quality controling and treatment of weld points in the setting up of the rigidity and modal models are discussed, and have offered the reference for the setting up of the analysis model of relevant FEA.(3)The finite element analysis model of the car has been set up through Analysizing the methanical characteristics of the automobile body structure.(4)The torsional rigidity, bending rigidity and the modal tests have been analyzed according to the actual loading conditions of the white body. Comparative analysis has carried on with the index of torsion rigidity and bending rigidity, and the basis for the optimization of follow-up static rigidity have been offered.(5)According to its dynamical performance requirements, the modal analysis of the white body has been done, then the relevant evaluation indexes and appraisal methods have been summarized.(6)The torsional rigidity, bending rigidity and the modal tests of the white body have been carried on, and the relevant operation procedure about the tests, attention problems, the method of the data treatment and evaluation criterion have been proposed. The results of the tests have offered the practice basis for the finite element analysis and verified the accuracy of the finite element models, the tests and the method of data treatment has offered the relevant reference for rigidity and modal test of white body.(7)Sensitivity analysis and the determination of sensitive components offer reference for the optimization of static and dynamical rigidity .The creative part of this paper is the sensitivity analysis of the white body. Sensitivity analysis is an important part of optimization design, it can make optimization more efficient . This course can confirm which part is most sensitive to the structure response by calculating the derivation of the design variables(DVs) with the structure respond value, thus we can obtain sensitivity references and best DVs that we concern most. It breaks through the limitation of the traditional optimization design theory about the white body, solving the problems such as complicated model and large calculating. In a word, research on static rigidity and modal finite element analysis of automobile body is an important development to the structural design of car, so it is meaningful and useful.
