This paper is mainly about the research of rigidity and modal research of the whitebody of a domestic car.Firstly, the finite element model was build according to some car's Body-in-white. The rigidity and modal analysis was performed base on the finite element model. Secondly, the rigidity and modal test of real car body was finished, according to the test the parameters of the Body-in-white were get. The reliability of the finite element model was validated base on the modal test. The main content and achievements of this paper are list as follow:(1) Based on the investigation of the related domestic and overseas research in this field, the finite element model of a car body-in-white is established. The model scale controling, unit quality controling and treatment of weld points in the setting up of the rigidity and modal models are discussed,(2) Accordingly the static stiffness and modal testing had been finished. Results comparison between the testing and analysis revealed the structral capabilites and verified the finite model's correctness.(3) The low-order modal of the model with glass was performed. Compared with the FEA results of Body-in-white, the influence of the glass to the stiffness was the research project.(4) The torsional rigidity, bending rigidity and the modal tests of the white body have been carried on, and the relevant operation procedure about the tests, attention problems, the method of the data treatment and evaluation criterion have been proposed.(5) The torsional rigidity, bending rigidity and the modal tests have been analyzed according to the actual loading conditions of the white body. Comparative analysis has carried on with the index of torsion rigidity and bending rigidity, and the basis for the optimization of follow-up static rigidity have been offered.
