The elevator already has been applied to perpendicularly transport the personnel and the goods widely. It's the only way to run high and low transporting. Different from the batch manufacturing, the big tonnage loading elevator is custom-built such as order dishes. It is not in favor of physics model machine exploitation. But it requests highly structure function and safe function at the same time. Using virtual prototype to replace physics model not only shorten a construction cycle but also improve design quality and efficiency for verify design.At first, this paper analyzed the trait and the background of virtual prototype. The development of safe plier was introduced. The halted capability of all kinds of safe pliers were compared. The stopping process of the safe plier was analyzed according to several circumstances. The adjustable screw was applyed to the system. It can adjust the relaton between the spring and the wedge block. The parameter formula and choice function on the main part of the safe plier were given for engineering design. Then the systematic safe plier 3-D solid model was built by 3-D solid model software CATIA. It was transfered into ADAMS software. The multi-rigid bodies dynamics was simulated and analysised after exerted constraint and force on the components. The safety plier had been dynamics stopping process simulated. The relation between every parameter and the stopping effect was got. A group best value was recommended. At the end, the safe plier parts library was built in the database. The mathematic model was made. Systematic safe plier parameterization design has been realized based on Web Services technology that used SOAP, UDDI, XML and so on for open distributed technical standard.In short, the virtual prototype of systematic safe elevator plier is the first step trial in designing. It is the advanced design, analyses, emulation technology used to elevator safety device design. It provids the forceful implementation and realization method to design a economy, reliable, stable high-performance safety plier.
