Energy and environment are the urgent problem to be resolved to contemporary humanexisting and development. Wind power generation is an effective means to alleviate theenergy crisis. Therefore, wind power generation enterprise is growing and wind powergeneration technology innovation. Wind power technology innovation must rely on theresearch experiments in the laboratory. But laboratory does not have a wind farm, how toprocess the research of wind power generation technology has become the pressing issue. Sopeople began to design turbines simulation devices used for laboratory research work toprovide the induction motor to pull the wind generation to research the wind power generationtechnology.This paper proposed a project to imitate the actual output characteristic of wind turbineby using variable-frequency speed regulating induction motor. That is, instead of the windturbine, an induction motor pulls the wind generation to research the wind power generationtechnology.Firstly, the wind speed mathematical model is established and the wind speed curve isdrawn by simulating. Compared the simulating wind speed curve with the actual wind speedcurve, a conclusion is drawn that the established model has accuracy and feasibility. Secondly,the wind turbine aerodynamic characteristic and theory of maximal wind energy absorption isanalyzed, though which I obtain the model of the wind speed to wind turbine rotational speedand power. Input wind speed, then we can gain the value of the corresponding rotationalspeed, power and torque. Vector control strategy to induction motor is detailedly analyzed toimitate the wind wheel machine dynamic output characteristic by means of the vector control.Thirdly, the whole the wind turbine dynamic output characteristic system is designed. It iscomposed of computer, convertor, data communication card, induction motor, speed measureequipment and so on. It realized the simulation of the dynamic output characteristic of thewind turbine. Computer operation window program is made to input the wind speed parameter and the wind turbine parameter and monitor the running status, include wind speedcurve, rotational speed curve, torque curve and power curve. It can also preserve the currentdata to analyze after the experiment. Finally, the design is used to pull the 30kW windgenerator, and gained the satisfactory results, which confirmed the feasibility and usability ofthe project of simulating wind turbine output characteristic by variable-frequency speedregulating induction motor.
