With the increasing of the energy crisis and environment pollution, it has been an inevitable trend for EV(the Electric Vehicles)taking place of the conventional fuel vehicles. The range of EV is much smaller than that of the conventional fuel vehicles, however, this short has restricted the industrialization and promotion of EV. There are many effective ways to increase the EV range. One of them is to use a system for recycling the regenerative braking energy on EV.This dissertation is based on the development of the PM BLDCM (Pe -rmanent Magnet Brushless DC Motor) regenerative braking system applied for EV. The principle and control scheme of electrical regenerative braking at low speed is studied in detail. A convenient control scheme is proposed.It is first expounded in the thesis that the specialty of controller TMS320LF2407A and the its function in the PM BLDCM control system. Then we talk about the basic component part, the basic running principle of the PM BLDCM. The four-quadrants operation , the course of changing phase and distributing of PWM signals are analyzed in detail.Secondly, the common ways of electrical braking are described, the regenerative braking at low speed is analyzed, the half bridge modu -lation is brought forward, and then the hardware design is described.Finally, according to the functional requirements of half bridge modulation and characteristics of TMS320LF2407A DSP, the whole system is divided into two parts of main program and interrupted program, and divided some modules. Designing those modules individually and then synthesizing them we can finish the system. PI control algorithm, me -asurement of the rotor position and calculation of the speed, current sample and algorithm of software filter, the completion of regenerative braking module are analyzed, and the flow charts or some program are brought, And finally, the whole system is test on the EV driving test bench in the lab.Because the time and the condition of the lab are limited, the test of controller system running on the EV is not finished yet, If the co -ntrol system software and the anti-jamming function are optimized, the further research must be kept on.
