As a new type of magnetic transmission mechanism, Non-contact electro-magnetic gear has special function that can transmit torque and power to closed area by magnetic field coupling. There is no physical contact between driver gear and passive gear of this transmission mechanism.This paper based on 3-D finite element method, the electromagnetic gear's structure design is explored initially; the application of FEM analyses software ANSYS is studied deeply in magnetic field analyses of electro-magnetic gear, main studies as follows : First, the 3D solid electromagnetic gear models are built by a APDL program, this program can build any 3D solid electromagnetic gear models with different structure parameters; Second , The magnetic field calculation of model is done with 3D scalar-method, the torques in different claw-pole structure parameters are acquired after calculation , third, the calculation results are analyzed and contrasted, according to the results , the static torque characters of electromagnetic gear are discussed deeply; the influences by claw-pole structure parameters is studied to the static torque characters. this paper offers some theoretical warrants to the future design and research of electromagnetic gears, and have some theoretical and application values...
