| The walking commerce street is an important type of urban public space, and is an important part of urban space environment. It can offer comfortable space and environment, improve auxiliary functional facilities, and blend sparing cultural atmosphere. So it is praised as "Paradise of Pedestrian" by people. Today the walking commerce street, as a style of city public life, receives people's welcome and attention gradually. It not only can improve quality of urban environment and recover features of city context, but also can improve urban landscape and enrich citizen's life. The walking commerce street has become the synthetic carrier of politics, economics, culture and trade, and is playing a more and more important role in modern daily life. At present, many walking commerce streets in our country are faced a lot of predicaments which are confusion of spatial pattern, deficiency of landscape facilities, traffic jam, trouble of mixture of people and vehicles, loss of historical context, etc. Aiming at these problems, this paper discusses from the angle of integral urban design, and focus on making an analysis and research to the spatial design and the landscaping design of the traditional walking commerce street of city, in order to revive the walking commerce street with era advance, and make it become a heaven of communication, business and recreation.This paper aims at the problem of reform and renewal of the traditional walking commerce street, and explores the orientation of design and methods with the coordination of its development. This paper consists of six main chapters: Chapter One and Chapter Two give more systematic explanations to the meaning, purpose and approach of this study, and related concepts and interrelationship of the walking commerce street and urban design. Starting from the origin and evolvement of the walking commerce streets at Home and Abroad, Chapter Three reviews their development stages and characteristics, and analyses the actuality of the walking commerce street in China in detail. Aims at the spatial design and the landscaping design of the traditional walking commerce street of city, Chapter Four and Chapter Five give an overall and meticulous research and provide some solution schemes and design principles. This is the keystone of this paper. In last the chapter, based on the reform and renewal of the traditional walking commerce street of Wuhan Jiefang Road, this paper combines the theory with the practice and presents a series of design countermeasure of the reform and renewal, and it hopes to consolidate and perfect the design ideas of the reform and renewal of the walking commerce street of city.The reform and renewal of the walking commerce street of city is a dynamic process. At different stages and different economic conditions, people's demand of the walking commerce street is continuously developing and changing. So, according to the practical conditions and needs, we must summarize the experience of construction and perfect the theory of construction constantly to improve the theory and practice of the reform and renewal of the walking commerce street of modern city. |
