Research On Spatial Renewal Design Of Jingsi Road In Jinan

With the rapid social and economic development,China’s urbanisation process has changed from incremental high speed development to stock quality development,and the urban regeneration mode has also changed from large scale demolition and construction to small scale progressive regeneration.Street space is an important part of urban space,showing the face of the city and manifesting its culture and spirit.Streets are closely related to the daily lives of residents,but as motor vehicles crowd the pavements,pedestrians’ feelings are neglected and a chaotic slow-moving system emerges,leading to poor communication in the pedestrian space,lack of vitality in the street space and low quality of public space.Therefore,in the context of urban regeneration,it is an inevitable need for urban development to improve the quality of street space and create a more comfortable,safe and vibrant street.This thesis takes the Jingsi Road street in Jinan as the research object,and regenerates and designs the street space based on the context of urban regeneration.Firstly,the concepts of urban regeneration and street space regeneration are briefly defined,a review of relevant literature at home and abroad is conducted,relevant case studies are selected and their design approaches to street regeneration are interpreted,and lessons learned are extracted.Secondly,the current situation of the street space of Jingsi Road is analysed and the existing problems are summarised,and solutions to the problems are explored.Finally,the design strategy is applied to the design of the Jingsi Road street space regeneration practice,from the slow walking system,landscape and greenery,public space,architectural interface and cultural carrier five aspects of design practice,focusing on the street public garden,collocation activity plaza,daily resting place,commercial space out of the node design.The design will strengthen the historical style,highlight the humanistic heritage,explore the diversity of space,enrich the life of citizens and enhance the vitality of the street.It is hoped that the design of the Jinan Jingsi Road street space regeneration can provide practical experience for future urban street space regeneration.
