The bearingless permanent magnet synchronous motor (BPMSM) is an innovative type of motor. In the stator slots, the BPMSM has a set of additional suspension force windings except motor's torque windings. The rotor shaft can be successfully suspended and the BPMSM can operate as the conventional motors. Therefore, the bearingless motors have functions and virtues of magnetic bearings and permanent magnet synchronous motors, and have great potential application foregrounds in aeronautics and astronautics, biologic and medicine engineering, semiconductor manufacturing, etc..As the rapid development of micro-electronic technology, the DSP technology has gained rapid development. The high-speed and high-precision control system of the BPMSM can be successfully realized, and application research of the BPMSM has been driven in the high-speed and super high-speed special electric drive fields.Firstly, the rudimental principles and the basic frame characteristics of the bearingless permanent magnet synchronous motor are expounded. And the mathematics model of BPMSM is deduced. Then based on the principle of producing radial force and the mathematics model, the rotor field oriented vector control method is proposed for decoupling control.Secondly, Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) is applied in bearingless permanent magnet synchronous motor. EKF models of BPMSM in Matlab/Simulink simulation environment are constructed and the simulation study is carried out.Thirdly, based on the principle of producing suspension forces and the mathematics model and using DSP TMS320LF2407A, the hardware and software of the digital control system have been designed and developed in the dissertation.Finally, the digital control system of BPMSM has been debugged and the relative experimental results have been analyzed for 2 degrees of freedom BPMSM. Through the part experiments and testing, the hardware and software have been optimized. The experiment results have shown that the theory is validity for the BPMSM.
