With the persistent development of our country's national economy and the improvement of people's daily lives, the construction of urban track transportation system is rising in many large cities in China. As the construction continues, the invention of TU Track Circuit Tuning Capacitor is required by the clients of track transportation communication signal systems, and this kind of capacitors can be used as the substitute of imported ones. Due to the pollution during the producing procedure, metallized polycarbonate (MPC) film, the main material of the traditional capacitors was forced to stop producing all over the world. So a substitute is badly needed, and a new material satisfies the requirement of client is urged.Based on the research procedure of metallized film capacitors, analysis of kinds of films used in electric applications, and numerous experiments, a new technology using compound dielectric to produce TU Track Circuit Tuning Capacitor is developed. Practice and experiments have proved that the products of track circuit tuning capacitors compoundly using the metallized polyester (MPET) film with positive temperature coefficient and metallized polypropylene (MPP) film with negative temperature coefficient can fully satisfy the technical requirements of users. The compound dielectric method of capacitor producing has broken through the traditional method using a single king of dielectric, and the utility model patent has been authorized by the State Intellectual Property Office of P. R. China. The application of invention patent is still in processing.Beginning with the introduction of basic knowledge of the function, category, and parameters of performance of capacitors, the main material, product design and fundamental techniques of metallized organic film capacitor, which is closely related to the TU Track Circuit Tuning Capacitor, are presented. The juvenility in technology and quality limitation of TU Track Circuit Tuning Capacitor using only the metallized (polyphenylene sulfide) as the substitute of polycarbonate is also presented. This paper focuses mainly on the feasibility, scheme, product design and techniques of TU Track Circuit Tuning Capacitor. And the feasibility in technology and maturity in production techniques have been fully proved by the tryout of clients as a second party, the practice experiment, the experiment and examination of authoritative lads. of the State as a third party. Now, large scale of products of this project have provided for Beijing Dacheng Tonghao Railway Transportation Device Corporation, Ltd. for use.For the purpose of promoting the technical contents of the product and meeting the need of industrialization, the improvement and improvement plans are placed at the end of this paper. Through the enhancement of security of the product and establishment of trade standard, the goal of leading and controlling the market can be achieved.
