With the increasing of building energy consumption and appearance of power intensity, energy efficiency are drawn more attention. There are many ways to save energy in air-conditioning, and exploitation of heat recovery facility is an important one. Preheating/cooling outdoor fresh air with heat recovery facilities is a good way not only to reduce energy consumption and add fresh air quantity, but also to improve indoor air quality and create healthy and comfortable indoor climate.This thesis aims to obtain energy efficiency in an air-conditioning room.Integral heat pipe heat recovery facility is designed and developed. Performance of total heat exchanger is studied by experiment.Firstly, heat pipe and total heat exchanger development history and their up to date states in the whole world have been reviewed. It is pointed out by analysis that heat recovery is an important measure to energy efficiency in buildings.Using heat recovery facilities is an effective method for both energy efficiency and health.It has a vital significance to alleviating the energy crisis.The types and characteristics of heat pipe are introduced. The theory of heat pipe is analyzed in details. Especially the principles of two-phase closed thermosyphon are suitable for integral heat pipe developed in this thesis. Initial filling ratio of working fluid is elaborated,which provides the theory basis for the design and development of integral heat pipe.The types and characteristics of total heat exchanger are introduced. Heat recovery efficiency is analyzed,including sensible efficiency, latent efficiency and total efficiency, which lays the rationale for the experimental study of total heat exchanger.According to the manufacture standard of heat pipe and the request of energy efficiency, the integral heat pipe heat recovery facility is designed and developed.It can recover the energy of indoor air and precooling fresh air.The performance experiment is carried out. The result indicates that the heat recovery efficiency of the heat pipe is 52.5%, and the energy efficiency effect is good.It has a practical value in certain degree.Total heat exchanger is manufactured which uses plate-fin total heat exchanger as its core body. Performance of its energy efficiency is studied by experiment.After the test, the mean value of sensible efficiency, latent efficiency and total efficiency is respectively 71.1%, 46.1%and 64.5%.Its energy efficiency effect is obvious. Through the comparison of performance parameters between integral heat pipe and total heat exchanger, actual situations and factors should be concerned synthetically when choosing heat recovery facility.The serviceability of heat recovery facility is analyzed in different climate conditions. According to Chinese climate conditions, total heat exchanger is suitable to use in South China,such as Shanghai, Wuhan and Guangzhou,where it is moister in most time of a year. In the north,such as Harbin and Beijing,where it is drier and colder, sensible heat recovery is suitable.Because of the advantages of heat recovery facility in energy efficiency and environment protection,great benefits will be obtained both for economy and society and the prospect is certainly optimistic.
