As the prevalence of vehicle, the competition is furious. For get more customers and bigger market, all the vehicle companies are doing their best to improve comfortable of driving, decrease energy consume, environment keeping etc. Electric power steering system is a tendency of power steering. electronic power steering system can improve comfortable of driving and decrease energy consume, prevent the pollution of the environment. At the same time, electric power steering system decrease the cost of product, maintenance, research and development and shorten cycle of development. Therefore electric power steering system become one important technology of what vehicle companies and research institutions focus on.This research focuses on the following items:First of all, get data of steering resistance of vehicle based on desk test. following national standards and trade criterion, through volunteers'evaluation, get some idea steering-assist characteristics.Secondly, depends on different working conditions, make up steering-assist characteristics bases on the rule of keep steering moment in range. Through RBF NN, get steering-assist characteristics in whole range bases on speed and steering moment.Thirdly, analyze the effect of steering angle, link results ahead, get steering- assist characteristics in whole range bases on speed and steering moment and steering angle.At last, make up modeling of vehicle, based on national standards and trade criterion. Through ADAMS, analyzes controllability of EPS system, validate EPS system in the paper is reasonable and effective.This paper bases on desk test and evaluation of volunteers, analyzes different effective factors step by step, get quantificational data. These results will do help for farther research.
